While Labour went up 3% the other left parties greens and Sinn Fein both fell 2%. Meaning the left parties combined dropped 1% not good news really for the left.

Michael,
Could an alliance of the left be formed without Sinn Fein, imagining that this might alienate further a struggling party (perhaps out of touch with south, again see Lison); which might well be merged into Fianna Fail with little net gain for FF and leaving many of the lower income demograph to potentially migrate to Labour (left alliance).
What might the numbers look like here?
