"Ireland has one of the most progressive taxation systems in the EU". Surely this is incorrect. It would be more correct to say: Ireland has one of the most progressive INCOME tax systems in the EU. The overall tax take is far from progressive as a NERI report concluded a few years ago. It found that the top and bottom deciles of the population paid almost the same proportion of tax.See https://www.nerinstitute.net/download/pdf/household_tax_contributions_neri_wp18.pdf
