At root automation has for centuries been about increasing productivity/reducing labour costs. Now, however, labour cost in so much production is zero. The issue is of course job losses but more importantly the kind of jobs being lost. There will be work in the 21st century but it will be unlike the 20th century. Capitalism, the State and above all socialism - having work at their core - will have to change. https://colummccaffery.wordpress.com/2017/12/17/full-employment-in-this-century-will-be-different-as-work-befitting-educated-skilled-workers-grows-scarce/
